Meet Darnice Wright Exclusive Founder and  Managing Director at 811 Productions, LLC and also Founder and CEO of DC Young Film Makers representing the prestigious city of Washington, DC specializing  in propelling independent projects to the big screen.

As a Humanitarian and Filmmaker, her very first film, Fishnets was recently awarded the Social Awareness Award, Award of Merit;Best Film for Europe Film Festival, Finalist in the 11th Annual Charlotte Black Film Festival, Nominated for Best Screenplay in the Urban Film Festival and earned the title of 2021 Honorable Mention for the London International Film Festival.

Following the production of Fishnets, Darnice created the DC Young Filmmakers program to empower youth 16-18 by teaching the art of storytelling through the creative aspects of digital filmmaking and media production. This program enlightens their knowledge of media technologies and develops participants’ leadership skills, creativity, and critical thinking skills through the artistic process of action-based filmmaking.

Darnice”s Short Film Fishnets (Anti-trafficking) dives into the heart of sex trafficking to raise awareness of the growing global problem that profits $150 billion nationally per year.

The purpose of this short film is to spread awareness of the growing global problem to ensure that youth and their parents are equipped with the warning signs to prevent their children from falling for predators and becoming sex trafficking victims.


Aside of her amazing accomplishments, Darnice is an amazing mother, fiancé , successful entrepreneur and proud super fabulous Washingtonian hailing from Northwest DC’s vibrant Brightwood Neighborhood, where her incredible journey began. Darnice took her first breath at Freeman Hospital, now the renowned Howard University Hospital.

With so many beyond exclusive milestones accomplished, Darnice continues to enjoy life with family and friends, she will also continue to be a jewel and supreme fashionista within her communities representing service and commitment to excellence .
